• Early detection can help prevent the progression of kidney disease to kidney failure. Heart disease is the major cause of death for all people with CKD. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the best estimate of kidney function.

• High risk groups include those with diabetes, hypertension and family history of kidney disease.

Fourteen Angels El Salvador is a non-profit organization (Lic. # C3090726) established under California laws and created in order to help children in El Salvador, emphasizing on kids with illnesses and those who have terminal diseases. In El Salvador, there is only one Hospital dedicated to children that serves different necessities for at least 80% of the children population of the country. One of the most affected areas is the dialysis treatment, in where there is a lack of supplies, medicine and equipment to provide standard service. This delicate treatment is vital to the life of the patients but because of the expensive costs, many of these children face fatality, their parents make every effort possible but unfortunately is not enough. This case and many others are the inspiration for the vigorous effort carried out by our foundation "Fourteen Angels El Salvador”.
